James EpiK : Sure!
EpiK Protocol is the worldâs first distributed storage protocol for AI data. By integrating IPFS storage technology, Token incentive mechanism and DAO governance model, it creates a global open autonomous community with four core capabilities of trusted storage, trusted incentive, trusted governance and trusted finance.
It organizes the users from global community with very low management cost to collaborate. Users can work together to continuously generate high-quality AI data that can be built, shared, and benefited, so as to broaden the cognition of AI and promote the arrival of the comprehensive intelligence era.

James EpiK : At present, EpiK Protocol has completed 5 rounds of beta testing over the course of a year and our main-net launch on August 15th. During the beta phase, both EpiK Protocolâs annotation system and storage system are rewarded with limited incentives from foundation subsidies.
With the launch of the main-net, the economic model which is 10 times that of the beta network will be officially launched. The speed of collecting AI data by EpiK Protocol will be dramatically increased, and there will be more ways for the community to participate in EpiK Protocol and work together to create real value for AI and blockchain industry continuously.

James EpiK : As for specific practical exploration, it is just as what I just said. EpiK Protocol integrates IPFS storage technology, Token incentive mechanism and DAO governance model.Thanks to these mechanism, EpiK Protocol creates a global open autonomous community with four core capabilities of trusted storage, trusted incentive, trusted governance and trusted finance.
Thus we are able to organize the users all over the world with very low management cost to work together to continuously generate high-quality AI data that can be built, shared, and benefited, so as to broaden the horizon of AI and promote the arrival of the comprehensive intelligence era.
On August 15, our main-net launched. On September 15, we started our first DAO, and it just finished it voting period yesterday.

James EpiK : It is a good question.
As we all know, there are some drawbacks about Filecoin. And we can solve these problems by combining them together. Compared with distributed storage projects led by Filecoin, EpiK Protocol not only has the storage capability as Filecoin, but has also added AI data processing collaboration network. It can continuously deliver high-value AI valid data to the distributed storage ecosystem.
In response to the current state of the distributed storage ecosystem, EpiK Protocol has created a new business model for distributed storage, upgrading from providing paid storage for enterprises to providing continuously updated AI data at a lower cost.
Compared with traditional AI data labeling, EpiK Protocol is the worldâs first distributed storage protocol for AI data, which has transformed the data labeling industrial chain into a data sharing economy model , greatly reducing the cost of data labeling.
At the present state where the algorithm has not been optimized yet, the measured labeling efficiency has already been 10 times higher than that of the traditional one. So far, our team has created a gamified knowledge crowdsourcing product â Knowledge Mainland, which was launched in beta version on April 22 this year. Users can collect and classify data by answering gamified questions.

James EpiK : There are multiple roles in the EpiK ecosystem and the value they bring differs in different periods. This means that the tokens produced by the network every day need to be dynamically allocated among different roles according to the external environment. This ensures that the ecosystem rewards are benefitting the corresponding roles who are helping with EpiKâs ecosystem growth.
We recently released our EpiK DAO design model, crafted by our CTO Leo. EpiKâs DAO, as stated ever since the first iteration of the whitepaper, is designed to dynamically adjust the economic model and establish credible governance. To our surprise, there is actually an absence of DAO in todayâs domain of distributed storage.

Bà Tân | : Question1. On 15th of September the first Epik Protocal Improvement Proposal (EPIP-1) was published in Epik PreDAO. Can you tell me, about What this proposal was? James EpiK : This is what we did recently!
EPIP-1 is proposed by two EPKers, Principle and BAF Capital who think it is not conducive to the long-term healthy development of the EpiK Protocol community if we donât set a lock-up period for the basic collateral. They followed the EpiK PreDAO guideline to propose to change the lock-up period from 0 days to 60 days.

A proposal can only be validated if the total number of votes exceeds 1/3 of total circulation of the whole network and the most-voted option must exceed 50% of the total number of votes cast.
EPIP-1 opened at Sep 15 15:25:00 UTC 2021. After 120 hours of voting, EPIP-1 ended at Sep 20 15:25:00 UTC 2021. According to the voting results, 37.68% of EPKers participated in the vote and 71.92% of them support updating the basic pledge release time to T+60, which means users have to wait 60 days after applying for withdrawal before getting back the basic pledge.
The voting results will be publicized for 3 days, and the publicity will end at Sep 23 15:25:00 UTC 2021. When the publicity period ends, we will publish an updated version of Go-EpiK. When most of knowledge nodes have updated to the latest version, the basic pledge release time will be changed to T+60 and EpiK Wallet will be updated to support this change at the same time.
We have to congratulate to all EPKers for reaching a general consensus on the first proposal EPIP-1. Itâs really a good beginning for the community governance in EpiK Protocol.

James EpiK : As for all EPKers(our EPK holders), they could use EPK to set up a knowledge node to earn EPK via providing storage and bandwidth resources; they could use EPK to act as a domain expert to earn EPK via producing more high-quality AI data; they could use EPK to build a knowledge gateway to earn EPK via providing AI training service using AI data in EpiK Protocol network.
EpiK Protocol is a big AI + Blockchain ecosystem involving domain experts, bounty hunters,knowledge nodes and knowledge gateways. Every one in this ecosystem will definitely have a demand for financial services. They may want to use BTC to borrow EPK, use USDT to buy EPK, tokenize the right to profit of their knowledge nodes and so on.
We have launched the Wave I of EpiK Protocol Grants Program. If you have a good plan to provide decentralized financial services for all EPKers, please check this guideline to apply for grants.

We benefit a lot from these technologies from AI and Blockchain. AI is good at improving the efficiency of production and Blockchain is good at reducing the costs of collaboration. EpiK Protocol combines AI and Blockchain to reduce the costs of labeling high-quality AI data.

Q4. Nowadays, NFT is becoming more popular, many projects come out related to NFT. So how do you rate the potential that Brokoli Network NFT can bring? Do you have any plans to make NFT become a new market trend?
James EpiK : We will work on making our decentralized collaboration tools better in 2022. We will enter NFT industry. Labeling AI Data is boring. So we build a game to attract EPKers to do it. NFT and metaverse are very good technology to make games more funny. We are open to all kinds of cooperation in this area.
Q5. Your project plans to operate in a public and transparent way, which is good, but how involved will the community be within the project to make the best decisions and thus strengthen the ecosystemâŚâŚ? Thanks @EpiK_James
